As the Immigration Partner your primary focus will be to support our HR and Business community to ensure optimal decisions are made regarding the deployment of talent across world and provide a value-add immigration program.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Analyze and interpret Complex Immigration case work

  • Within 30-60 days of employment, become competent in VMware’s immigration policies and processes
  • You will work closely with the Immigration Manager to ensure compliance and align on strategy for nuanced cases

Assist in Ad-hoc Projects

  • During high volume cycles you will take a bigger role to ensure continuity of work
  • Will take on projects to surrounding policy, analytics, or stake holder training
  • Maintain Program efficiency while managing the EMEA, APJ, METNA regions

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Ensure the immigration programs are adapted and aligned to the business and talent needs within your population scope
  • You will handle and rank multiple priorities simultaneously, using your know-how to problem-solve, negotiate and build strong reciprocal relationships with a broad coalition of partners from finance to tax to legal to payroll and HR operations, etc.
  • You engage with key Stakeholders as an extension of/support to their objectives; establish relationships, collaborate, and stay fully attuned to business and HR directions and initiatives across regions, business groups and global initiatives
  • Your ability to actively knowledge share within the HR community to promote the understanding and enhanced appreciation for the value of using mobility (in its many forms) strategically for talent development as well as to achieve business objectives will be key to advancing the program’s effectiveness
  • Partner with the Global Talent Mobility Partners to get insights and develop strategies and solutions relating to challenging immigration and relocation issues
  • You will handle and rank multiple priorities simultaneously, using your know-how to problem-solve, negotiate and build strong reciprocal relationships with a broad coalition of partners from finance to tax to legal to payroll and HR operations, etc.
  • Experience in the design and delivery of complex programs and processes.
  • Innovative nature, with a proven understanding of business principles
  • You are an advocate for compliance and the VMware Code of Conduct, with a desire to contribute to VMware’s success

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

The manager for this position is Francisco Solis. Francisco has over 10 years’ experience in leading and developing immigration programs across multiple industries. He has a strong strategic background in both US and Non-US immigration practices and holds compliance to the highest standard. Francisco believes in collaboration and creating a team that aligns with the business needs while keeping in mind the employees full immigration journey. Francisco looks for people who can think out-of-the-box and then execute on a good idea. Innovation = Creativity and Execution.

As the process owner, the overall philosophy of the team is to provide a responsive, value-based program to meet current and future business plans while delivering a consistent high-quality service to key partners.
