This important role is responsible for assisting design engineers in the preparation of design drawings and mapping of facilities in AutoCAD or similar mapping systems.

LOCATION: Papillion, NE

Relocation assistance is available for this position! Package is based on distance/complexity of the move, and individual circumstances. Contents of our relocation program are subject to change and may vary based on position.

SALARY RANGE: $52,000 – $67,000 DOE

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Design Engineering Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Utilize computer-aided drafting system (AutoCAD) to complete detailed construction and as-built drawings for regulator stations, meter sets, odorizers, pipeline installations and other facilities.
  • Make 3 dimensional and 2 dimensional models.
  • Modify objects in model and paper space.
  • Utilize AutoCad tool pallets
  • Create a bill of material based on pipeline facility models.
  • Provide accurate and current system maps by updating land base and gas facilities, and printing distribution maps.
  • Creating figures for permit drawings for various agencies and government entities
  • Plot and publish drawings on large and small formats
  • Distribute drawings in paper and electronic forms.
  • Follow instructions and communicate with Engineers and operations personnel.
  • Provide pressure zone maps and cathodic protection zone maps as requested by Operations.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with plotting and large media
  • Site visits and project planning/scoping

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Engineers
  • Operations

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience in oil/gas design preferred however, will consider

EDUCATION:

  • Associate degree in design, drafting or science related field, may consider directly relevant experience in lieu of degree.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of Black Hills Corporation Operations and Maintenance and Part 192 mapping requirements.
  • Skilled with the use of AutoCAD, GE Smallworld, Spatial Intelligence and Microsoft Office software.
  • National electric code
  • Familiar with Welding and fabrication
  • ASME, B31 and others

SKILLS/ABILITY/OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and maintain control of assignments.

CERTIFICATIONS/CREDENTIALS:

  • Survey
  • AutoCAD
